Key Activities
Your position would involve doing a wide range of work, from developing new and exciting functionality in our core products to updating and maintaining various mobile and web sites.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsibility in the development, design and maintenance of Wapple systems
- Liaise with internal & external technical teams
- Support the development of mobile web delivery systems
- Supporting Wapple online Community of businesses and developers
- Customer demonstrations and training of the technology platform
- Proactive consultation with clients on best practice and use of the technology
- Support development teams in project management and customer communication
- Prepare commercial project pricing estimates – helping to write proposals and present them to the relevant decision makers at prospective or existing clients
- First point of contact for corporate clients from media companies, publishers, web brands and ad agencies
- Responsibility for product QA
- Occasional out-of-hours, on-call
- Any other related tasks as may reasonably be required to meet the needs of the Company

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or equivalent level education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the mobile industry is required.
Experience
- PHP5 & OOP design experience
- MySQL database experience
- XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax
- Frameworks: CakePHP, jQuery, Prototype, Scriptaculous
- Experience of mobile markup language is desirable
- Experience of building communication layers with XML, REST, SOAP, etc
- Working in a client-facing consultation role is essential
- Server admin
Knowledge and Understanding
- Knowledge of the Mobile Industry is desirable
- Knowledge of SEO processes
- Understanding of web standards – highly desirable
- Knowledge of version control – essential
- Knowledge of best coding practices – desirable
- Understanding of scalability of web servers under high load - desirable
