Mobext turns to Wapple for mobile site development optimised for all handsets

With growing interest from marketers in the mobile Internet, Mobext UK, the mobile marketing network of Havas Digital, is working with Wapple to create striking and innovative mobile websites for its clients. A key factor in the decision to choose Wapple is the ability to create sites that are automatically optimised for every single mobile device as soon as they are available.

Before working with Wapple, Mobext UK built its mobile sites by programming in xhtml, but was finding it difficult and time consuming to deliver the best mobile experience for the growing number of devices and browsers. Mobext UK also wanted to concentrate more on the design and messaging of its sites rather than the technical complexities of getting them up and running and working properly for every type of handset.

"When an important client gave us just a couple of weeks to get a mobile website up and running, we looked for a company that could help us with the technical aspects and also deliver on time," said Chris Bourke, managing director of Mobext UK. "We also had to be sure that the finished site would look and work the way we wanted it to on any mobile device, something we found impossible to do in-house. In fact, Wapple exceeded our expectations and allowed us to meet all of our client's requirements in the short timescale; we will certainly be working with Wapple for future mobile projects."

Wapple has developed the advanced Wapple Canvas™ design and publishing platform along with its powerful device profiling and delivery system, Wapple Exhibit™. By understanding each individual mobile handset and browser at a very deep level, Wapple Exhibit is able to reconfigure and optimise mobile sites for each device without compromising the user experience.

Without Wapple Exhibit™, it would be impossible to deliver superior mobile internet sites to over 5,000 different handsets and automatically support new devices as they come to market.

As well as using Wapple's managed solution to deliver mobile web sites,
Mobext UK is keen to build its own in-house team to use Wapple Canvas™. "Wapple Canvas and Wapple Exhibit remove all of the technical barriers of mobile development, and provide the tools that allow us to build highly creating and functional mobile sites."
